The Infernal Devices TV Show

        I saw this picture on Instagram and wasn't happy. If most of y'all haven't noticed, the majority of book to TV adaptions, are wayyyyy off. Some examples would be Game of Thrones, True Blood, Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, The Lying Game, and more. With all of these shows, they are so far off book, that there is absolutely no need to read the books, which, to be honest, ticks me off. If producers and TV show creators are going to make a book to a TV show, they should at least have the deceny to stay by the book. People tend to get lazy and not read the book. They're all like, "There's no need to read the book. I'll just watch the show." Ummmm..... Yeah. You do need to read book. Everything will make a lot more sense. The Infernal Devices is perfect as it is. There's absolutely no need to try and make it a TV show, because the producers are going to mess it all up. It may sound harsh, but its true. They just need to leave it alone.

If anyone is actually reading this, I apologized for being gone for so long. There's so much that I need to say about this movie and I didn't know exactly how to word it the right way. And also, school has started again. You know what that means.  *Homework* Not fun. But now I am back so let's get to the review.

       On Wednesday August 21, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones came out for people to finally see. I was so excited. I had nagged my mom into buying the tickets super early so that we would have guaranteed seats. I even went to the theater an hour early, because I was just that excited. I went in having really high expectations. Like, super high. I do have to say one thing. Not sure if it’s relevant, but it angered me to no end. When I was in the Alamo, before they started showing the movie, they started playing clips of horror movies that were about vampires.  City of Bones is not all about vampires. Get that into your head. Yes, there are vampires in the book, but they are not the main characters. City of Bones is nothing like Twilight at all and everyone needs to realize that. It's like when most people hear that a book has vampires in it or that a book is about vampires, they just assume that they're all like Twilight.
      But let’s stop ranting. I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but as a book lover and someone who is VERY much obsessed with the Mortal Instruments , I was very disappointed in the movie. The acting was mediocre, information was left out or skimmed over, and things weren't explained very well.  
     They didn't explain what the stele was for. The runes weren't explained very well and the scene where Clary just magically cleans her house with a rune on her arm??? Unacceptable. That's not how they work. OMG. And that scene where Clary freezes the demons, walks away, but doesn't kill them. Does that make sense??? Noooo.
    
 Let's talk characters.

• Jace: I think that Jamie is perfect for Jace. He's exactly how I imagined him to be and he didn't disappoint.
• Clary: Please, please, don't hate me for what I'm about to say. I do not think that Lily Collins is a good actress. I think that the only thing she managed to actually get right was how annoying Clary is because I'm not a big fan of her in the books. The one scene I didn't like with her was when she fell on the floor if the Institute and said "Is this the part where you take your shirt of?" I think that's the whole quote. The way it was delivered was very cheesy and not in a good way. It was as if it was just placed there just because.
• Simon:  Robert is absolutely perfect for Simon. Exactly as I imagined him to be. One scene I didn't like with him though was his Spiderman moment with his glasses. "I seem to not need them anymore." The way he delivered that was kind of over the top and cheesy.
• Alec: Perfect.
• Isabelle: Bad-ass and perfect
• Magnus: What a shame. Godfrey TOTALLY looked the part for Magnus. BUT, he didn't sound like. Magnus is one of my absolute favorite characters. I was so excited to see him. But then he spoke and I was disappointed. He didn't have the sass of Magnus. At least they got the cat eyes right.  
• Valentine: No. No, no, no, nooo.  Don't get me wrong, I love Jonathan, but who in the world thought that it was a good idea to change his backstory and put those damn braids on him??? No. Unacceptable. I have no words.

     I'm done ranting, because I could literally go on all day and tell you what was wrong with this movie. They are making City of Ashes next year. I just hope that they actually get things right this time. Peace out and have a great school year!!!!

     So, I was on Tumblr just ten minutes ago when I saw the most beautiful thing ever.  A cover for City of Heavenly Fire. I'm not really sure if this is THE actual cover, but it's still very beautiful and I can't stop looking at it. I actually screamed when I saw it. Guys, I'm so excited for this book. So, out of curiosity I went onto Goodreads to find out when the book would be released. The release date is May 27, 2014...... That's too far away!!!!!  And to think that things couldn't get any worse, I looked up the release dates for the Dark Artifices.....It's in 2015. What am I going to do with my life. My whole book world revolves around Cassandra Clare's world and her writing.

     Emma???? Emma Freaking Carstairs???? Did I read that right??? Yes, I did. I just about lost it when I read that name. I kind of regret looking this trilogy up because now I've put myself through the extreme torture of waiting for it, but I'm also glad to have looked it up, because now I have something to look forward to because at least Clary isn't a main character. Obviously, she's going to appear in the series, but at least it won't revolve around her and we won't have to hear her annoying voice. But, while I was reading the description, I was thinking, "You know what, sometimes the Shadowhunter's laws suck." And they do. I don't know about you, but it seems to me that their laws are placed just to make some Shadowhunter's miserable on purpose. Am I right or am I right??? Just kidding. My theory is probably wayyyyy off. But that's okay. We all have our own crackpot theories now don't we?

     *CAUTION. MAJOR SPOILERS!!* I finished this book 2 or 3 days ago (I read this sometime in July) and I will admit that it took me a while to actually get into it. I actually tried to avoid reading it, by reading 6 other books on my road trip. But I'll talk about those books later. Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love the Mortal Instruments, its just that the beginning of these books are always just a little slow.  All in all,when I started to get towards the middle,  there were parts of the story that had me yelling.
     One part that had me yelling was when Magnus, Alec, Isabelle, Simon, and Chairman Meow were in Magnus's apartment and Chairman Meow jumped into to pentagram with Azazel and Simon jumped in also. I screamed so loud until I remembered that Simon had the Mark of Cain. And then Cassandra Clare had to go and be a jerk and take away Simons mark because the angel Raziel was greedy and PMSy. THAT got me upset. I was all like "What? What? No. She can't do that. Its Simon." But she did and I don't like it. You know who's going to go and kill him as soon as they find out that he doesn't have the mark??? Raphael. That vampire that wanted to hire Simon as a bodyguard. He said that he'd be first in line when the Mark came off. And I'm pretty sure that he's the kind of guy who always keeps his word. I love Simon. If something terrible happens to him..... I don't know how I'm going to deal with that.
     Two other moments that had me screaming was when Clary's Mom was saying that she and Jace weren't meant to be together. I mean seriously... I know that you don't like the guy, but damn. There's no need to be such a bitch about it. She seriously needs to stop comparing him to Valentine. He's not even his son. Then there was the part where Magnus broke up with Alec. I understand why he broke up with Alec, I would too if I was him, but I just wasn't expecting it to happen so soon. I wasn't mentally prepared for it.  
     *CAUTION. MAJOR SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ CLOCKWORK PRINCESS. I'M SERIOUS.*  Okay. So.... Everytime that Brother Zachariah was mentioned I squealed because I was all like "I know who that is!!! It's Jem. One person that majorly pissed me off was Maryse Lightwood. Brother Zachariah was mentioning how Jace was related to Will Herondale and she yells that Jace isn't a Herondale. He's a Lightwood. Bitch....Dude, he's related to him no matter what. You can't just yell and have it not be true. Grow up Maryse.
     Don’t even get me started on Sebastian. I mean, you have to admit that you must have felt a little sympathy for him and you might have believed that he was becoming a little bit of a nice person. I know I did. But then he just had to go and be a dick...asshole... jerk and open his mouth. I really wished that he would have been captured or killed, but obviously that can't happen because there needs to be an evil villain now that Valentine is actually and officially dead now.
     While watching CassJayTuck a BookTuber's review of City of Lost Souls, she pointed out that the whole book was centered around Jace and I didn't realize that until she said that. She also said that we learn from this book in particular that we all realize how serious Jace and Clary's love is. They literally can't live without each other. It isn't that teenage puppy love in those contemporary books. They truly love each other and I guess that now we all know how serious that love is and that they'll go to extreme lengths to find each other. It's actually kind of cute. 
     All in all, I think that book is just absolutely amazing and it gives us  more insight on Clary and Jace's relationship, plus Clary and her mom.  give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I originally gave it 5 out of 5,  but I just hate Sebastian so much, I changed it. Weird reason, I know.
